4 Infrastructure Mutual Funds Poised for Big Returns
President-elect Donald Trump promises to improve U.S. infrastructure and make it “second to none.” But before any of that work begins, let’s look at the highest rated mutual funds with investments in infrastructure.
Using the mutual funds screener, we found that there are four BUY rated infrastructure mutual funds.
State Street Clarion Global Infrastructure & MLP Portfolio (SSIDX) seeks to provide long-term return by investing in infrastructure companies located anywhere in the world. It is currently at the bottom of the BUY range with a B- investment rating. The fund has $12.1 million in total assets and pays a 2.58 percent dividend. One- and three-year returns of 8.5 percent and 21.3 percent are above the industry average. No five-year return recorded, as the fund is too new, founded on March 1, 2012.
Reaves Utilities and Energy Infrastructure Fund Class A (RSRAX) is a B- rated mutual fund with at least 80 percent of its net assets invested in securities of domestic and foreign public utilities and energy companies. The fund offers a 0.94 percent dividend and has $49.7 million in total assets. One-, three-, and five-year returns are: 13.7 percent, 21.7 percent, and 53.1 percent, respectively.
Lazard Global Listed Infrastructure Portfolio Open Shares (GLFOX) invests at least 80 percent of its assets in equity securities of infrastructure companies, which consist of, utilities, pipelines, toll roads, airports, railroads, ports, and other infrastructure. It is the largest of the four mutual funds, with $3.1 billion in total assets. It pays a 5 percent dividend and is currently rated B. The fund offers well above average one-, three-, and five-year returns of 2 percent, 32.5 percent, and 95.2 percent, respectively.
Frontier MFG Core Infrastructure Fund Service Class (FCIVX) has $180 million in total assets and currently holds a B- investment rating. The fund invests in, both, U.S. and Non-U.S. infrastructure companies. This is a new mutual fund, founded on July 15, 2016.
