Go Behind the Screens of Our All-American Mutual Fund List

Last week we posted our list of All-American Mutual Funds, and the response was incredible. It’s become one of our most viewed posts, and many of you wrote in and asked how we arrived at those particular mutual funds.

Since so many of you wanted to know, we’re going to show you how we did it. And as luck would have it, we have been planning a new video series to take you “behind the screens” and show you how we use Screeners to slice and dice our data and do our analysis. So using the All-American Mutual Funds Screener we created for that post in our first episode was an easy choice.

You can view that episode of Behind the Screens above, and follow our senior financial analyst, Gavin Magor, as he takes you through the specific criteria he used to quickly whittle the list down from the over 27,000 mutual funds we rate, to the 10 that are on the list as of Aug 12, 2016. (Remember, like all Screeners, the list of results is dynamic. So as new data comes in, the list will change depending on what funds still fit the criteria. In fact, two funds have dropped off since our original post on August 1st. That’s why we suggest you save your Screeners and check back often.)

Watch the video, and create your own Screener based on the criteria Gavin used. You can use it as a jumping off point to produce your own custom list, substituting and adding the criteria that best fits your personal needs.
