Nine Multicurrency Mutual Funds to Buy
Weiss rates 54 mutual funds with investments in multicurrency markets. These funds invest their assets in securities that create exposure to currencies of any country, including debt obligations, derivative instruments and cash deposits.
There are no mutual funds in the category receiving the highest or the lowest investment rating (A or E). Most of them, 40 funds, are rated C (HOLD), nine receive a B (BUY) rating and five have a D rating (SELL).
The nine B rated funds fall under the BUY category, and are the only ones we would currently consider worth investing in.

These nine mutual funds performed well, with the total return above the industry average of a negative 0.96 percent in 2016 so far. The funds recorded a year-to-date return between 0.81 percent and 1.8 percent. The list consists entirely of funds provided by Columbia Threadneedle Investments. All of them pay a dividend of 3 percent or more, and show positive one-, three-, and five-year returns.
