Whether you actively manage your 401K, or are simply looking for new investment opportunities, we have exactly what you need to gain the edge in the investment world. Using the Weiss Ratings mutual funds screener, we identified the 13 best all-around mutual funds:
- They are all BUY rated, with a Weiss investment rating of A or B.
- Produce above average one, three, and five-year total returns.
- Have an expense ratio of 0.75 percent or lower. That is well below the industry’s average of 1.19 percent.
- Turnover ratio of 2 percent or less. A low turnover ratio may decrease the fund expenses and increase returns for the investor.
- Are open to new investors.
- Minimum investment is $1,000 or under. It won’t cost you an arm and a leg to get into an investment.
- Have above average dividend yield.
Our search produced a list of 13 mutual funds meeting the criteria above. However, among those 13, three were funds available for institutional investors only. Those are DFA funds provided by Dimensional Fund Advisors, and are excluded from the table below.
So, ten highly rated and well performing, funds are available for individual investors, requiring $1,000 or less in minimum investment with a number of attractive features.
