If you're tuned in to what's going on in the world at all, you'll know that artificial intelligence is the talk of the town.
Just consider the “Magnificent Seven.”
These are the seven largest tech stocks in the world. And they all have a hand or two in developing or using AI.
That have been on fire the past year-and-a-half …

But, as you likely know, I come at the markets from a different angle.
There are lots of companies trying to get into the AI game. But just like the publicly traded stocks in the “Mag 7,” there are pure players and bandwagon players at an earlier stage.
I had the opportunity to invest in one of those startups, back in 2020. It is now blazing a trail toward a potential IPO, inside the private market.
While I'm not here to recommend public companies, I do want to tell you about this startup that you might be hearing about soon.
Transforming Talent Acquisition Through AI
This Way Global is a leader in AI-driven talent acquisition sourcing technology. The company's innovative approach focuses on mitigating bias in the recruitment process and ensuring fair and compliant hiring practices.
Angela Hood, the driving force behind ThisWay Global, has dedicated herself to leveraging AI for good and revolutionizing the way companies hire talent.
She used a real-life personal experience that she encountered when trying to break into the architecture industry out of college as her driving force for the company.
Due to the fact that she was a female in a male-dominated sector, she saw the bias firsthand. That’s why she started ThisWay Global.
The Rise of AI and Its Impact on Society
AI has rapidly evolved. It is now transforming whole sectors and influencing our society in profound ways. It has paved the way for advancements in healthcare, finance, transportation and beyond.
But with every transformative technology, there are concerns and ethical considerations that need to be addressed.
One of the concerns is the fear of job losses. As AI and automation become more prevalent, there is a fear that many professions will become obsolete, leaving millions unemployed.
Another worry is the ethical implications of AI. AI systems are only as good as the data they are trained on. And if that data contains biases or discriminatory patterns, the AI algorithms can perpetuate those biases. This raises concerns about fairness, privacy and discrimination in AI-powered decision-making processes.
AI for Good
ThisWay Global and Angela Hood are at the forefront of utilizing AI for good and partnering with giants like International Business Machines (IBM).
It's essential to acknowledge the valid concerns surrounding this technology. But it is also important to recognize its incredible potential for positive impact. AI has the power to revolutionize industries, improve efficiency and enhance our daily lives in numerous ways.
Here are just a few:
Advancements in healthcare: By revolutionizing diagnostics, drug discovery and personalized medicine. By analyzing vast amounts of medical data, AI algorithms can identify patterns and provide valuable insights, leading to earlier disease detection and more effective treatments.
Enhanced Customer Experience: By powering chatbots, virtual assistants and personalized recommendations. By leveraging AI algorithms, companies can better understand their customers' preferences, anticipate their needs and deliver tailored experiences.
Streamlined Operations and Efficiency: From supply chain management to predictive maintenance. AI-powered algorithms can analyze large datasets, identify patterns and make data-driven decisions to streamline processes and improve overall performance.
The Future of AI: Striking a Balance
As AI continues to advance, it is crucial to strike a balance between harnessing its potential and addressing the concerns it raises. Companies like ThisWay Global are at the forefront of this movement, championing ethical AI and leveraging its power for good.
AI is a double-edged sword. It has the capacity to bring about positive change and improve our lives, but also raises concerns and ethical dilemmas. By recognizing the scary and beneficial aspects of AI, we can work toward a future where AI is used responsibly and for the betterment of society.
And even smaller startups like ThisWay Global have a role to play.
Until next time, my friend!
Happy hunting,
Chris Graebe
P.S. Of course, you don’t have to wait for ThisWay Global to go public to take advantage of AI. You also don’t have to be stuck with choosing between the “Mag 7.” In fact, we put together a presentation — which is set to come down from the site soon — on how to get into the next AI rally.
