The investment seeks to provide current income and aims to provide a growing stream of income per share over time and provide long-term capital appreciation is the secondary objective. The fund pursues its investment objectives by investing, under normal circumstances, at least 80% of its net assets (plus any borrowings for investment purposes) in a portfolio of dividend-paying equity securities of U.S. companies. It generally invests in a core group of approximately 40-50 equity securities, including common stocks, and real estate investment trusts (“REITs”).
