Here’s the burning question for investors: Is the stock market’s meteoric rise since March of last year hinged on merely hope, or is it, well ... real?
Jon Markman, senior analyst and editor of Jon Markman’s Pivotal Point, says it’s indeed real, even if it is based on heaps of “free money” from the government and the Federal Reserve.
Keep in mind, too, that record-setting highs on Wall Street are here for the long term, according to Jon. He says just since January of this year, 81% of companies in the S&P 500 Market Index have reported revenue far exceeding expectations.
“When the Fed gets involved in a very big way in the market, by pumping money in — a record amount of money in — you normally have a fivefold move in the next 10 years in the stock market indexes,” Jon explains.
