Transportadora de Gas del Sur S.A. (TGS) is an Argentine energy infrastructure company primarily engaged in natural gas transportation, natural gas liquids (NGL) production and commercialization, and midstream services. The company operates one of the largest natural gas pipeline systems in Latin America and is a key participant in Argentina’s energy sector. TGS serves regulated and non-regulated markets through long-haul gas transportation networks, liquids processing facilities, and infrastructure services tied to the development of unconventional shale resources, particularly in the Vaca Muerta formation.

TGS generates revenue mainly through its regulated natural gas transportation business, liquids production and exports, and midstream infrastructure services for oil and gas producers. The company transports natural gas from major producing basins to distribution companies, power generators, industrial users, and marketers. TGS was created in 1992 as part of the privatization of Argentina’s state-owned gas utility Gas del Estado. Over time, it expanded beyond regulated pipeline transportation into higher-margin liquids and midstream businesses, positioning itself as an integrated energy infrastructure operator with strategic exposure to Argentina’s shale development.
