How to Collect More Than the Trump Dividend Check

How to Collect More Than the Trump Dividend Check
By Nilus Mattive

Politicians have to make big promises to gain — and keep — their power.

So I didn’t even blink when I heard President Trump say every adult American could expect to receive a $5,000 check if the Republican Party keeps its congressional majority after this year’s midterm elections.

It’s only a more direct version of the same type of promise just about every candidate in Washington makes each time election season rolls around.

Increasing Social Security benefits. Doing away with taxes on tips. Increasing funding for food stamps. Creating a new car loan interest deduction.

These are all financial promises to the American public, oftentimes made to one group at the expense of another.

Hey, at least President Trump is just offering straight cash to everyone across the board!

The part about his promise that gives me pause is when he compared the United States to a successful corporation.

Here’s a transcript straight from the White House’s page1 on this “Trump Dividend” promise:

“Because we’ve done so well, and because our country is making so much money, only I can make this promise to you, and here is my promise: If the Republicans win the House of Representatives and the United States Senate … I will issue a dividend to every adult citizen in the United States of America for $5,000.”

The same official White House page goes on to explain it this way:

“Like a successful company returning cash to its shareholders, the Trump Dividend is possible only because of President Trump. In his second term, he has unleashed trillions in new private investment, launched an unprecedented crackdown on government waste and rebuilt American strength at home. That success belongs to the American people — and the Trump Dividend returns it to them.”

We don’t even need to debate the specific accomplishments cited here.

They’re like a company saying it has invented a new technology … found success in some new foreign market … and hired a genius marketing executive.

Even if they’re all true, they have nothing to do with the bigger picture — the company’s overall financial ability to pay out dividends to its shareholders.

In fact, as someone who has specialized in dividend stocks for about 25 years now, I can tell you this is the ONLY thing that really matters.

And in that regard, the United States is simply in no financial position to initiate a new dividend right now.

Let’s start with the nation’s balance sheet — the basic ledger that shows how much money it has versus how much it owes.

Overall, the United States currently has about $6 trillion in assets against total liabilities of roughly $48 trillion. That gives it a negative net worth of more than $41 trillion.

In contrast, the median S&P 500 corporation has a positive net worth with a typical debt-to-equity ratio ranging between 0.70 and 1.30.

Even if we assigned value to everything else the U.S. government owns — its land, its buildings, its gold reserves — it would still look like a company heading toward insolvency, not one in a position to make extra payments to its shareholders.

Indeed, as I explained in a recent article here, our country is now spending more money just paying interest on all its current debt than it spends on its massive military budget.

What about cash flows?

After all, some indebted companies bring in enough money each and every quarter to service their obligations and still make regular payments to their shareholders.

The United States is not operating that type of business right now.

To the contrary, we have been spending more than we bring in every single year for 25 years straight!

So I have to laugh when I hear Treasury Secretary Bessent say he’s looking into how Washington can pay these dividends without increasing the debt further.

Most estimates peg the value of sending out these checks somewhere around $1.2 trillion. Unless lawmakers manage to cut that much out of this year’s budget or find some magical new way to increase revenue overnight, there’s no mathematical way to do it.

To be clear, the United States absolutely CAN pay each of us $5,000.

It can pay each of us $1,000,000 if it so chooses.

That’s because, unlike a private company, the U.S. Treasury can make as much money as it wants.

But we would just end up with the same thing we saw in the wake of the Covid stimulus checks — more debt to pay off in the future along with more inflation.

So, hey, I’ll be the first to cash any check President Trump or anyone else wants to send me.

However, I don’t think anyone should expect it to improve their overall financial picture one bit.

If getting real, lasting, rising income is what you want, I recommend two simple steps:

First, focus on the types of stocks I’ve been recommending to Weiss readers for more than 20 years now — solid all-weather companies with healthy balance sheets and rising cash flows.

Many of these firms have been paying out steady — and increasing — dividends decade after decade.

Second, to further boost the income you can receive from those types of stocks, use the unique strategy I’ve been recommending to a small group of Weiss Ratings readers designed to produce one cash payment after another almost every single week of the year.

I’ll be explaining exactly how it works in a special online event TODAY at 2 p.m. Eastern.

Simply click here and wait for the event to start.

(If you’re seeing this after the event went live, the link will automatically redirect you to a replay so you don’t miss out.)

As you’ll see, we’ve been using this approach to pull in roughly $1,000 almost every Friday with a win-rate of 93.8%.

And that’s based on our real, actual published trades NOT back-testing.

Bottom line?

You don’t have to wait on President Trump or anyone else to send you a $5,000 check.

In fact, I can show you a strategy that aims to make more than that before the midterm election even happens!

Best wishes,

Nilus Mattive

P.S. Seriously, I really do hope you take a little time to learn about that strategy I’m going to talk about today.

It’s something that just about anyone can start using.

In fact, I taught my own dad how to do it more than a decade ago, and he had almost zero investing experience.
