We’re only five days into September, and we have already seen more money raised in IPOs than any year on record.
Granted, we won’t likely see the same number of IPOs as we did in 2021, a monster year for companies going public.
Obviously, the main reason for the giant bar on the right side of this chart is because of SpaceX’s (SPCX) $75 billion raise.
Still, even without that or either OpenAI or Anthropic ringing the opening bell, we’d be on pace to finish this year with the second-most money ever raised in history.
But as we found out this week, that’s not when investors can make the most money.
Chris Graebe writes that a 2012 law …
“…gives us access to the ‘Alpha Round,’ which is the earliest stage of outside funding after founders and their inner circle … but before the big institutional money shows up.
“That window of opportunity used to be exclusively reserved for venture capital firms and wealthy insiders.
“Historically, this is where the biggest potential returns live.”
He also shared four of his personal success stories about getting in at this early round.
Each of the four startup stories he shares ended with a sizable paycheck.
That’s why we are excited to come back from this holiday weekend to a special event.
Chris will share what he can about a new pre-IPO company with a technology that could be bigger and more important than AI, the internet or even the telephone.
It starts here at 2 p.m. Eastern on Tuesday, Sept. 8.
Meanwhile, your other editors have been busy with their own research.
Nilus Mattive got a front-row seat to see just how much money the government spends every hour.
He also hammers home his favorite “debasement trade.”
Sean Brodrick says out loud what many of us have been thinking: “Will America Fall Like the Roman Empire?”
And Michael A. Robinson just hopped on a plane to Europe. But before he left, he found a company perfectly positioned to take advantage of the New Golden Age of Travel.
Have a great holiday weekend!
