The SEC Could Give Crypto Its Next Big Break

The SEC Could Give Crypto Its Next Big Break

It’s official. The U.S. Senate is once again in recess … without having passed the CLARITY Act.

The August recess was the soft deadline for many. Senators will sit in session one more time before the midterm elections in November. But without clear resolution on the ethics question, the likelihood it’ll reach a floor vote is small.1

How small?

Predictive market Polymarket now puts the chance of CLARITY passing the Senate this year at less than 20%.

This means the next real chance to clear the air — pun intended — when it comes to crypto regulations is next year.

But that doesn’t mean we won’t get a regulatory catalyst sooner.

Altcoin expert Mark Gough has been following CLARITY’s progress closely this year. And he agrees that the bill likely won’t make it passed the Senate in 2026. But earlier this week, he told you that Congress Is Not Needed for Crypto’s Next Regulatory Breakthrough

That’s because on Friday, the SEC took steps on its own. It held a meeting to consider new exceptions for crypto companies who want to raise money in the U.S.

These would still have to work within the existing regulatory framework, it does give crypto companies some wiggle room to build and grow while the Congress grinds through the legislative process.

How big an impact this move will have remains to be seen. But in his update, Mark lays out what he watched for in Friday’s meeting.

I suggest you check that out. And when you’re done, be sure to catch up on all the other crypto updates your experts highlighted this week …

Japanese Liquidity Just Gave Us a Key Piece of Bitcoin’s 2026 Puzzle

For most of 2026, Bitcoin (BTC, “B+”) has followed the same path as Japanese liquidity — as measured by Japanese M2 (JpM2). This metric leads BTC by roughly 84 days.

And now, it’s showing a key turn. One that aligns with Juan’s Forecasting Model to give us our next significant buying opportunity.

The U.S.’s Yen Intervention Just Cleared the Way for Crypto’s Next Rally

Here’s the crazy part: The fall rally for JpM2 appeared on Juan’s charts before the headlines that gave it context. Now, the picture is clear. The U.S. has stepped in to help strengthen the yen … and by extension, Japanese liquidity.

In his second update this week, Juan explains how this “yen-tervention” is not just bullish for Bitcoin in the near term. But could actually give the broad crypto market the exact fuel it’ll need to run when sentiment shifts to bull mode.

OpenAI Fires New Shots Against Google, Meta in the Digital Ad War

Once upon a time, bombardment by digital ads was a sign you had a computer virus. Today? They’re the most common way digital platforms earn revenue.

But with OpenAI rolling out ads for its Free subscribers, many believe the era of Meta and Google ad dominance is over. Tech expert Jurica Dujmovic has a different view. And it could chance your tech investing thesis.

The New Blockchain Rankings: Who's Winning the Crypto Shake-Up?

As always, DeFi expert Marija Matić wants to remind you to look beyond this week’s coin prices. Because a glance at DeFi total value locked (TVL) reveals a much bigger story.

A key pattern in the latest rankings has emerged. And it’s one that every crypto investor should note before they load up for the next bull cycle.

But that’s all for this week. Be sure to look for your next Weiss Crypto Daily update tomorrow afternoon.
